Charles Flournoy Wooldridge

Charles Flournoy Wooldridge, 82 years of age, passed away November 13, 2009. He was the son of William F. Wooldridge and Leta Maxey Wooldridge. Charles was born on November 9th, 1927 in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Lamar High School in Houston, Texas. He joined the military, serving in the Army until July 1947. He then attended and graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in mechanical engineering.

His work career began with Faiffner Bearing Company in Connecticut in the fall 1952, returning to Dallas, TX in 1954 working for Browning-Ferris Machinery Company. In 1966 he joined the Dwayne Luman Equipment Company in Longview, TX until retirement in 1992.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wm. D. Wooldridge. He is survive by his sister, Mary Louise (Wooldridge) Detweiler and brother-in-law, Reverend Richard J. Detweiler of Kirksville, MO. And his sister-in-law, Mrs. (Wm. D,) Sue Wooldridge of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and three cousins.

Charles was a member of the Baptist church most of his life. Among other faith interests he often supported missionary families overseas, occasionally visiting them in the field. More recently he became a member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Entombment is in the Garden of The Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Kirksville, MO. Memorial gifts are directed to Hospice of Northeast Missouri, 201 S. Balitmore, Kirksville, MO 63501.
