Charles Flournoy Wooldridge
Charles Flournoy Wooldridge, 82 years of age, passed away November 13, 2009. He was the son of William F. Wooldridge and Leta Maxey Wooldridge. Charles was born November 9, 1927,
in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Lamar High School, Houston, TX. He joined the military, serving in the Army until July, 1947. He then attended and graduated from the University of Houston, with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
His work career began with Faiffner Bearing Company in Connecticut in the fall of 1952, returning to Dallas, TX in 1954, working for Browning-Ferris Machinery Company. In 1966 he joined the Dwayne Luman Equipment Company of Longview, TX, until retirement in 1992.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Wm. D. Wooldridge. He is survived by his sister, Mary Louise (Wooldridge) Detweiler, and brother-in-law, Rev. Richard J. Detweiler, of Kirksville, and his sister-in-law, Mrs. (Wm. D.) Sue Wooldridge, of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and three cousins.
Charles was a member of the Baptist church most of his life. Among other faith interests, he often supported missionary families overseas, occasionally visiting them in the field. More recently he became a member of the United Pentecostal Church.
A Masonic service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday (November 18, 2009) conducted by Bob Barrett with a funeral service to follow officiated by Reverend David Brown. Entombment will be in Park View Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Kirksville.
