Ruth Ann Knox
Ruth Ann Knox, 66 of St Charles, IL passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 30th 2009 at Provena Geneva Care Center in Geneva, IL after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born on October 28th 1943 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Herbert and Grace (Patterson) Moncrief. On March 22nd 1964 in Brashear, MO she was united in marriage to the late Dale Vance Knox.
Surviving are her two sons, Brian Knox and wife Linda of St. Charles, IL, David Knox and wife Debby of Sugar Grove, IL, and her daughter, Pamela Johnson and husband Scott of Oswego, IL; eight grandchildren, Richard Knox, Jason Knox, Alyssa Knox, Joseph Elsworth, Melissa Elsworth, Courtney Johnson, Caden Johnson and Alexa Johnson; two brothers, Willard Moncrief and wife Judy of La Plata, MO, Bob Moncrief and wife Bonnie of Kirksville, MO, and one sister, Ida May Parsons and husband Richard of Gibbs, MO, and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Evelyn Maize.
She was a member of the Valley View Baptist Church in St. Charles, IL. She worked for many years in nursing homes in the Fox Valley area of Illinois and in Kirksville, MO. She was a caring, loving mother and grandmother that will be dearly missed by everyone.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday (January 2, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Virgil Jones officiating. Burial will be in Wilsontown Cemetery southeast of Kirksville.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (January 1, 2010) at the
