Robert Pavesic
Robert Pavesic, 85 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (December 30, 2009) at his home.
The son of Anton and Helen (Sanderto) Pavesic, he was born June 3, 1924 in Kirksville, Missouri. On September 30, 1945 in Kirksville, MO he was united in marriage to Doris Julia Wimber and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Bob is survived by six nieces, Jan Etheridge and husband Gary, Beth Wimber, Rochelle Knight, Sherry May, Annie Hitta and Patty McCollum; four nephews, William-Cuddles Cuddihee and wife Joanne; John Robert Cuddihee and wife Marie, Albert Martz and Dick Martz; two grand-nieces, Patti Orthwein and Erin Cox; one grand-nephew, Ryan Cuddihee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Margaret Wimber; close friends, Jack and Bobby Connelly and Freddie Bailey and his loving and loyal caregivers and companions, Angie, Kay, Joy, Darcia, Albert, Mabel, Amanda, Cindee, Stephanie, Joni, Wendy and Sunshine.
Bob was educated in the Kirksville schools and graduated from the Kirksville High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served on submarines as a radio technician until his discharge in 1945. He worked in the tailor shop in Kirksville with his mother and also ran a heating and cooling business. He was a co-owner of Mr. Jim’s Clothing Store for many years. Bob and Lee Lieuwen started and operated Allied Dairy, a business they ran until their retirement.
Bob was a member of Adair Lodge #366 A.F. & A.M., the El Kadir Shrine Club, First Christian Church and the Kirksville Country Club. He was an accomplished pilot and loved to fly. He was also an accomplished card player and love to play cards.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (January 2, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend John Dungan officiating.
Honorary bearers will be Freddie Bailey, Herb Sandker, Harvey Young, Alan Daniels, Steve Kolb, Lee Moots, Charles Giovannini, Jack Connelly, Stoney Matteson and Bryan Beckmann.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
