Lula May March Lula May March 93 of Moberly, Missouri passed away Thursday (January 7, 2010) at her home in Moberly. Lula was born March 20, 1916 south of Willmathsville, MO, the daughter of Manuel Hugh and Nina May (Selby) Pearce. On October 1, 1932 in Emmentsville, Iowa she was united in marriage to Charles Raymond Rummerfield and he preceded her in death on August 25, 1963. On November 21, 1965 she was united in marriage to Chester Glenn March and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one step son, Joe March; two son-in-laws, Keith Kimberly and Harry Paul Laird; one daughter-in-law, Jean Rummerfield; five grandchildren; one sister and two brothers. Lula is survived by her children, Billy Ray Rummerfield and wife Peggy of Moberly, MO, Donna Fay Hadden and husband Memphis of North Bend, OR, Cora Lee Helton and husband Ed of Moberly, MO, Wilma Jane Meline and husband Ralph of Madison, MO and Bonnie Frances Bennett and husband Bill of Hurdland, MO; fifteen grandchildren; forty great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; her step-son, Bill March of Greentop, MO; seven step-grandchildren and several step great and great great grandchildren. Lula received her education in the Garden Grove and Bible Grove schools. She was raised in the Willmathsville area and spent her later years researching and writing about its history. She was a farm wife, part owner of Adair Feed & Grocery, did foster care for twelve children, was a practical nurse at Grim Smith Hospital, and a 4-H leader and PTA officer. Lula was a member of the United Methodist Church in Brashear, Christian Church in Willmathsville and attended the Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Moberly. She was also a member of the Oak Dale Extension Club, Chit Chat Club, Little Dixie Square Dance Club and was a devoted 55 year member of the Eastern Star. Until loosing her eye site to macular degeneration she enjoyed making ceramic dolls and sewing their clothes, crocheting, cooking, traveling, genealogy and gardening. She enjoyed being with family and telling of her experiences in her life, teaching and encouraging her family to enjoy life and succeeding in whatever they chose to do. Lula had many challenges in her life but never complained and never lost her sense of humor. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday (January 12, 2010) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Dan Todd and Rick Roberts officiating. Music will be provided by Lanna Novinger singing, “Precious Memories”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “On Eagles Wings” accompanied by Dianthe Cable. Burial will be in Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville, MO. Pallbearers will be Max Siebuhr, Doug Clarkson, Danny Clarkson, Joe Clarkson, Colby Siebuhr and Logan Meline. Honorary bearers will be Dr. Thomas Bragg, Dr. Tony Spaedy and Rodney Keneipp. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday (January 11, 2010) with a Eastern Star service to be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home 2100 E.
