Marjorie McCune, 89 of Kirksville passed away Monday, January 25, 2010 at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO.
Marjorie was born on May 24, 1920 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of J.T. and Retta (Sees) Reynolds. On April 5, 1972 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Charlie McCune, who preceded her in death on January 7, 2007. Also preceding her in death was her parents.
Marjorie is survived by a sister, Virginia Garth of Champaign, IL; step daughter, Sharon Streger and husband Ray of Tyler, TX; nephews, David Garth, Samuel Garth and Alan Garth all of Champaign, IL; two step granddaughters, Amy Gilbreath of Paris, TX and Ellen Perry of Broken Bow, OK.
Marjorie worked many years as Deputy City Clerk until retiring from that position. She greatly enjoyed working with the public. She also enjoyed music and playing the piano and organ for many civic groups.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Northcutt officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
There will be no public visitation.
