Clarence Harold Reno, 81, of Kirksville passed away Friday, February 5, 2010 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
He was born February 6, 1928 in Quincy, Illinois to John Byron and Alma Frances (Frericks) Reno. On January 21, 1950, in Quincy, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Bessie Sparks who preceded him in death in 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jim and John; sister, Teresa; and sister-in-law, Loretta Wright.
He is survived by son, Richard “Dick” Reno and wife Sue of Wentzville, MO; daughters, Janet Schwartz and husband Raymond of Kirksville and Brenda Reil of Kirksville; brother, Richard “Rich” Reno of Quincy, IL; sister-in-law, Geraldine Mikel and husband Ron of Kirksville; five grandchildren, Scott Reno and wife Christina and Bryan Reno and wife Cheryl, all of St. Louis, MO, Kenny Schwartz and wife Stacy of Wentzville, MO, Chris Schwartz and Jessica Reil of Kirksville; two great-grandchildren, Natalee Schwartz and Zane Reno; and several nieces and nephews.
Clarence received his education in Quincy, IL. Following his education, he entered the United States Navy. Clarence worked for the International Shoe Company in Quincy, IL before transferring to Kirksville and retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company. Following his retirement, he delivered meals for the NEMO Senior Citizens. Clarence hobbies included bowling, dancing, and golf. He especially enjoyed gathering with friends and family.
Funeral service will be held Monday, February 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Virgil K. Jones officiating. Burial with military rights will be at Maples Hills Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scott Reno, Bryan Reno, Kenny Schwartz, Chris Schwartz, Jessica Reil, and John Henry.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
