Mary Louise Deierling 78, of Queen City passed away Saturday February 13, 2010 in Kirksville Manor Care.
The daughter of Willie and Opal (McNary) Jackson, she was born September 26, 1931 in Schuyler County, Missouri. On June 13, 1949 at Kirksville she was united in marriage to Roscoe (Buddy) Deierling who survives. They had just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary.
Also surviving are a daughter, Linda Lyons of Kirksville; a daughter in-law, Barbara Deierling of Kirksville; three granddaughters, Angie Sloop of Columbia, MO, Laura Sloop of Branson, MO and Tara Deierling of Fulton, MO; two grandsons, Phillip Deierling and wife Tammy of Pittsburg, KS and Michael Deierling and wife Lacy of Topeka, KS; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Larry Deierling on March 4, 1982, three sisters, Inez Turner, Grace Kinney and Gladys McFarland.
At an early age she moved with her parents to Kirksville where she attended the Kirksville Public Schools. Following her marriage they moved to their present home in Queen City. She worked at Ada's Cafe in Queen City for over ten years. Mary enjoyed working as a volunteer for R.S.V.P., Kirksville Nutrition Site, Red Cross Blood Mobile, Chamber of Commerce and the Salvation Army of which she had been a faithful member for seventy years. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends who were her greatest enjoyment.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday (February 16, 2010) in the Dooley Funeral Chapel with Missionary Pat Turner officiating. Musical selections will be “What a Day That Will Be” and “Farther Along”. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richard McFarland, Joe Turner, Skip Turner, Lloyd Kinney, Frank Kinney and David Kinney. Honorary bearer will be Phil Turner.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday (February 15, 2010) at the
Dooley Funeral Home
