Georgia Deen Noel 89 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday , February 17, 2010.
Georgia Deen was born May 9, 1920 in Kirksville, the daughter of Vaughn and Anna Deen Pulliam. She was raised in Northeast Missouri, attended Gorin High School and Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. Upon completion of her education she taught elementary school in LaPlata, MO until her marriage to Richard C. Noel on November 28, 1946, soon after his return from serving in the Pacific conflict during World War II. They have been a resident of northeast Missouri since 1946 and were engaged in farming until retirement.
Georgia Deen was an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Kirksville and was active member of the churches fellowship team fro many years.
Georgia Deen is survived by her son, Richard Noel and wife Hope-Ann if Kirksville; her daughter, Patricia Harmes of Excelsior Springs, MO; grandchildren, Robert Harmes, Anna Weaver and husband Thomas, Michael Harmes, Alexandria Noel and Savanna Noel; two great grandchildren, Abagail and Alyssa Weaver; one brother, Keith M. Pulliam and wife Elizabeth; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son-in-law, William F. Harmes.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday (February 22, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Jackson officiating. Private family burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Robert Harmes, Michael Harmes, Thomas Weaver, David Pulliam and Bruce Kosmiski. Honorary bearer will be Robert Pulliam.
Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Monday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
