Boon McLin, 76 of Kirksville passed away Saturday (February 27, 2010) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The son of Bon and Jesse (Kelly) McLin, he was born October 26, 1933 in Benjamin, Missouri. On October 11, 1985 in Lancaster, Missouri he was united in marriage to Carol Truitt.
Boon is survived by his wife, Carol; one brother, Albert Lowell McLin of Kirksville; step son, Mike Martin of Genoa, IL; step daughter, Teresa Busche of Genoa, IL; five step grandchildren; one niece, Kelly Crossland and two nephews, Jack Moots and Doug Moots.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Moots and a brother in infancy.
Boon worked in farming most of his life. He also worked in maintenance at Northeast Missouri State University and the Adair County Court House. He helped in the building of the Thousand Hills School. He ran a flea market in Novinger and Edina for several years. He enjoyed to read the bible and attended the Full Gospel church in Kirksville. He would always give a helping hand to anybody that had a need.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (March 2, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Ola York officiating. Music will be provided by Wilma Clifton singing, “Great Speckled Bird” and “I’ll Fly Away”. Burial will be in Novinger Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
