Clayton Leeper

December 4, 1932 — March 10, 2010

Clayton Dee Leeper, 77 of Greentop passed away Wednesday (March 10, 2010) at the Arbors where he had been a patient for the last eight months.
Clayton was born December 4, 1932 in Pollock, Missouri, the son of James and Cora (Kiems) Leeper. On December 13, 1985 in Greentop, Missouri he was united in marriage to Martha A. Burnett and she preceded him in death on December 13, 2006. He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Harold Leeper and a son-in-law, Roger Lloyd in 2005.
Clayton is survived by two step daughters, Glenda Foster and husband Gerry of Jefferson City, MO and Julie Lloyd and fiancée Tim Attebery of Kirksville; four grandsons, Brandon Foster, Brent Foster, Matt Lloyd and Michael Lloyd; one sister, Bernice Wolf of Clarkston, WA; cousin, Jackie Henningson and wife Ellen of Burlington, IA and cousin, Lucille Adams of Kirksville and several nieces and nephews.
Clayton lived in Milan, Missouri with his parents after high school where he worked for Banquet Foods. He served in the National Guard. He worked for the Jones Dairy in Centerville, Iowa and then for Meadow Gold and Anderson Erickson in Kirksville until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed playing cards and fishing. He also enjoyed music and played in a band in the 1960’s. He loved being around family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (March 14, 2010) with Reverend David Lukefahr officiating. Musical selections will be “Go Rest High on That Mountain” and “In The Garden”. Burial with military rites will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Matt Lloyd, Michael Lloyd, Tim Attebery, Brandon Foster, Brent Foster and Gerry Foster.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
