Gerald Ray (Jerry) Novak

Gerald Ray (Jerry) Novak, age 67, of LaPlata, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010, in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born August 23, 1942, at Berlin, Wisconsin, the son of James and Goldie Arvella Young Novak.
On August 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to Jane Louise Doyle.
Surviving are his wife Jane Novak of LaPlata, Missouri, three children Debbie Hammer and husband Bob of LaPlata, Missouri, Jeffery Novak and wife Dawn of San Francisco, California, and Pam Boronski and husband Mike of Dallas, Texas, three sisters and two brothers, Char Rudie and husband Norm, Betty Hutchinson, Mary Ann Wentz and husband Warren, Jimmie and Vernie Novak, all of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, five grandchildren, Christopher and Ashley Hammer, Chad and Allie Boronski and Ayden Novak, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
Jerry received his education in Sheboygan, Wisconsin and Crystal Lake, Illinois. He was employed sixteen years as Manager of Manufacturing for K.W. Muth in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, ten years as Manager of Malco Company at Crystal Lake, Illinois, and four twenty-four years owned and operated the Edina Glove Factory in Edina, Missouri, retiring in 2006.
Jerry was a dedicated and hard working individual. He was a past member of the Knox County rotary Club and enjoyed tennis, swimming, the beach, the outdoors and spending time with his family. Jerry served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965.
Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 3, 2010, in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri. Reverend Virgil Jones will officiate the services. Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. till time of services at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, 2010, in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, Missouri.
Memorials in memory of Gerald Ray (Jerry) Novak may be made to the American Cancer Society. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 East Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, Missouri, 63537.
