Alice Williams

November 28, 1911 — April 18, 2010

Alice Louise (Moncrief) Williams, age 98, of Kirksville passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010, at the Kirksville Manor Care Center.
The daughter of William Garret and Mary (Snow) Moncrief, Alice was born November 28, 1911 in Macon County, MO. On January 8, 1932 in Macon, MO, she was united in marriage to Cecil E. Williams who preceded her in death on January 20, 1993. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Jimmie Williams, eight sisters and three brothers.
Alice is survived by one son, Jerome (Evelyn) Williams of Kirksville; one daughter-in-law, Rita Williams of Kirksville; two grandsons, Jerry (Kathy) Williams of St. Louis, MO and Tysen Williams of Columbia, MO; one granddaughter, Melissa (Tony) Smith of Ballwin, MO; three great-granddaughters, Alisha Williams of St. Louis, MO, Kennedy and Jensen Smith of Ballwin, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Alice graduated from LaPlata High School with the Class of 1929. After her marriage they lived on a farm south of Brashear, MO for 35 years before moving to LaPlata in 1974.
She was a member of the Brashear United Methodist Church and the Retired Senior Volunteer Program.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Beryl Cragg officiating. Music will be provided by Lanna Novinger singing “Precious Memories”, “In The Garden” and “One Day At A Time”, accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Lyle Creason, Lynn Creason, Jimmie Stribling, Howard Hughes, Richard Hughes and Terry Reynolds.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday, April 21, 2010, in the chapel of the
