Scott Craig, 31, of Centerville, IA, died as a result of an automobile accident on Highway 5 north of the Missouri/Iowa state line on Wednesday, April 28, 2010.
Scott Anthony Craig was born in Covington, LA, on March 31, 1979, the son of Phillip and Stacey (Ernest) Craig. He attended South Pike High School in Magnolia, MS. He moved to Missouri after High School in order to work with his father in the flooring business. He recently had joined his uncle, Donnie Lassabe, in the scrap metal business.
Scott was a free spirit who liked having a good time with friends and family. He had a good sense of humor and was a good friend. Scott enjoyed all kinds of music, as long as it was loud and had a good beat. He was good at installing stereo systems into cars and liked to work on cars in general. He liked to take his children to the Unionville Park and play basketball. He also enjoyed taking his kids fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Scott his survived by his father, Phillip, and friend, Karen Toettcher, of Centerville, IA and by four sons, Jamison, David, Terence, and Kenneth Craig, all of Unionville, MO. He is also survived by the mother of his four sons, Cynthia Potter. A brother, Jeffery Craig, his companion Rachel McClurg and a sister, Angela Brockus and her husband James, all of Centerville, IA, survive as well as a niece, Desiree Craig. Two grandparents survive as well, Ella Mae Ernest and Estelle Craig. Scott had three friends he considered as family, Ken Shumate, Susan Milner, and Gary Leavens. Several aunts and uncles also survive.
Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Stacey Craig.
Graveside services for Scott Craig will be at the Thompson Cemetery east of Unionville, MO, on Monday, May 3, 2010, at 2:30 pm. Visitation will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on the same day as the service.
Memorials are suggested to the family to assist Scott’s children.
