Jaunita M. Gegg, 85, formerly of St. Louis, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2010, at Twin Pines Adult Care Center, Kirksville.
Jaunita was born in Coffman, Missouri on August 26, 1924, to Joseph and Maude (Boyd) Gegg. She was stricken with polio at age 5 and suffered many illnesses throughout her life. She went to work in St. Louis at an early age. She worked at several different jobs before spending over thirty years at a printing company. Jaunita was moved to Twin Pines in Kirksville in 2008 to be near her niece, Joan (Roger) Butt and great niece, Lori (Jason) Haxton and their families. With her cheery smile, Jaunita made many friends at Twin Pines.
She is survived by loving nieces, Joan (Roger) Butt of Kirksville, Judy Gegg of Springfield, MO, nephews, Larry (Janet) Baumann of Cedarburg, WI, Joseph (Linda) Gegg of Locust Grove, VA. and Landis Gegg of St. Louis. She is further survived by great nieces and nephews, many cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: brothers, Willard, Lee, Joseph and Thomas: sister, Eloise Baumann and dear friend, Harold Lyons.
Jaunita will be laid to rest on Saturday, May 8, at St. Catherine's Catholic Church Cemetery, Coffman, Missouri.
