Shannon Rose Adams, 61 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (May 19, 2010) at Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The daughter of Carol Dean and Cleta Mae (Mountain) Adams, she was born November 9, 1948 in Kirksville, Missouri.
Shannon is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Carson and Barb Adams of Kirksville. Her beloved nephew and niece, Jason and wife Kristen Adams of O Fallon, MO and Angie and husband James Warrick of Kirksville. Her adored two year old nephew, Connor Adams of O Fallon, MO along with many special cousins and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1988 and her father in 1989.
Shannon was a graduate of the Kirksville High School with the class of 1967. For many years she was employed at Lambert Glove Factory in Kirksville, MO, until it's closing. Shannon then became a care giver in the homes of elderly individuals, developing close and loving relationships with each. The last few years she spent in retirement, managing the apartment house in which she lived.
Shannon will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered for her excellent sense of humor, her generosity and her caring and giving nature. She was always there to give a helping hand to anyone in need, and had a tremendous love of animals. Along with her pet dogs, there were many stray animals who benefited from her kindness.
It was Shannon's wish to be cremated and a memorial service and interment of her remains will take place at a later date.
