TROY COLLIER PHILLIPS

Troy Collier Phillips, 27 of Columbia, MO passed away Wednesday (June 23, 2010) at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, MO.

The son of Dr. Ron and Suzanne Phillips, Troy was born on August 12, 1982 in Kirksville, MO.

Troy is survived by his parents, Dr. Ron and Suzanne Phillips of Kirksville, MO; two brothers, Tyler Phillips and wife Mary Grace of Columbia, MO and Drew Phillips of Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Tierney Lamone and husband Brian of Kansas City, MO; grandparents, Bruce and Carol Collier of Kirksville, MO and Lee and Goldie Phillips of Hot Springs Village, AR; one niece, Talia Lambing age 6 years and one nephew, Braun Lamone age 4 months.

He was preceded in death by two aunts, Becky Phillips and Rachael Collier.

Troy was reared in Kirksville and attended the Kirksville public schools graduating from the Kirksville High School with the Class of 2001. He played football all four years of high school.. He then attended Columbia College. Many of the things that he enjoyed very much were watching football, fishing, wearing camouflage, skiing, canoeing, having a good time and being with family and friends. He was a courageous and strong person who served as a protector, his friends called him “Bear” and he is forever young. Troy especially enjoyed playing with his niece, Talia and nephew, Braun.

A Memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (June 26, 2010) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Bob Shaffer officiating.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Friday evening (June 25, 2010) at the

Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home

Those who wish to express their sympathy in the form of a contribution may do so to the American Diabetes Association. Contributions can be sent to or left at the funeral home.
