Lola Irene (Woolf) Edge, 72, of Kirksville passed away Friday (July 9, 2010) at her home and is currently with her Lord and Savior.
Lola was born on June 7, 1938 in Laredo, MO, the daughter of Donald C. and Allene (Tracy) Woolf.
On April 17, 1960 in Laredo, MO she was united in marriage to Roger A. Edge.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Roger; children, Roger Edge, Jr. (Juliana) of Aurora, IL, Laura Edge of Naperville, IL and Lana Bamert of Sandwich, IL; five grandchildren, Joel Edge, Robbie Edge, Danielle Bamert, Nick Bamert and Angel Robles Edge; two sisters, Dorthea Owens of Vinton, IA and Marilyn (Russell) Miller of Kansas City, MO; one sister-in-law, Norma (Gordon) Johnson of Minnesota and five nieces and three nephews.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Carolyn Arnold and her brother, Morris Clay Woolf.
Lola was reared in Laredo, MO where she attended the Lardeo schools, graduating from the Laredo High School with the Class of 1956. She graduated from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University) in Kirksville in May, 1959. Lola majored in Home Economics and taught school at Laredo, MO, Columbus, GA, Linneus, MO, Green City, MO, Hurdland, MO, Kirksville, MO and Hamilton, IL.
She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Kirksville.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 13, 2010) at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Kirksville with Reverend Larry Gibson officiating. Musical selections will be “He Lives”, “In The Garden” and “There Is Something About That Name”. Soloist will be Aaron Yelton. Burial will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Ed Smiser, Jeremy Hediger, Mike Stark, Elmer Pipes, Bob Russell and David Bass. Honorary bearers will be all other Deacons.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday (July 12, 2010) at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
