Ferris Hollenbeck

Ferris W. Hollenbeck of Kirksville passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
Ferris was born in Kirksville, MO January 7, 1925, the son of D.W. and Mary (Horsman) Hollenbeck. On July 2, 1957 in Kirksville, MO he was united in marriage to Ruby Irene Parks.
Ferris was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. D.W. Hollenbeck, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Saul Parks, his brother and sister-in-law, Francis Roe and Marjorie P. Hollenbeck.
Ferris is survived by his wife, Ruby Hollenbeck of Kirksville; two sons, Ferrill Hollenbeck and wife Angelia of Hawaii; Clifford Hollenbeck and wife Margaret of Kirksville; four grandsons, Jarrod Hollenbeck, Ryan Hollenbeck, Aaron Hollenbeck of Kirksville and Hayden Hollenbeck of Hawaii; five granddaughters, Charity Hall of Ennis, TX; Racheal Humphrey of Columbia, MO; Sierra Eskra of Kirksville; Chessi Hollenbeck of Kirksville, and Sophie Hollenbeck of Hawaii; three great grandsons, and one great granddaughter, sister-in-law, Wanda McGrath and husband Dallas; a brother-in-law, Leon Parks and wife Bonnie; one niece, three nephews and many cousins.
Ferris was raised on a farm, south of Kirksville, where he lived for most all his life. He attended Kirksville Schools. Ferris served his country as a soldier in the National Guard. He enjoyed farming, which he did until he retired. Ferris took pleasure in taking his wife Ruby to country music shows. He loved his wife and they spent many hours sitting in the yard swing. He cherished spending time with family, visiting with the grandkids, and great grandkids. Thank God for the blessing his life was to his family and friends. He will be greatly missed!
Graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday (July 22, 2010) at Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville with Dan Todd officiating.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Hollenbeck, Jarrod Hollenbeck, Ryan Hollenbeck, Aaron Eskra, Josh Humphrey and Hayden Hollenbeck.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
