Bella Shao

Bella Shao, 92 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (July 20, 2010) at her home in Kirksville.
Bella was born on September 2, 1917 in San Francisco, California. She was raised in San Francisco where she attended school and graduated high school. She worked in bookkeeping in San Francisco. On August 3, 1946 in San Francisco, California she was united in marriage to Bing Kun Shao. They moved to Kirksville in the early 1950’s where Bella was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother.
She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and was an avid newspaper reader, where she would keep up on current events.
Bella is survived by her children, Michael Shao and wife Shoojan of New Providence, NJ, Gary Shao and wife Paula of San Diego, CA and David Shao and wife Amy of Palo Alto, CA; four grandchildren, Danny & Tyler Shao, Jason Shao and Rachel Reisner; three great grandchildren, Christian Shao, Leila Shao and Penny Shao; sister, Anna Low and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (July 24, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Dewayne Wellborn officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
