Bessie Elaine Ambrose, 80, of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (July 20, 2010), at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The daughter of Eddie Ross and Edith Agnes (Brassfield) Kirkpatrick, Bessie was born January 16, 1930 in Buffalo, MO. On September 19, 1960 in Kansas she was united in marriage to James Ambrose, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Elvis Kirkpatrick and three sisters, Dixie Zack, Marie Comer and Frances King.
Bessie is survived by two brothers, Ray Kirkpatrick and wife, Genita, of Kirksville and Floyd Kirkpatrick and wife, Joyce, of Bremerton, WA and three sisters, Mickey Sanders and husband, Bob, of Maryville, CA, Juanita Ferguson of Monegaw Springs, MO and Barbara Myers of Novinger, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Bessie was reared in the Atlanta, Missouri area. She attended the Atlanta and Kirksville schools. After their marriage, she and James lived in Kansas City, LaPlata, Gifford and Galt, MO. She loved to travel, visit, play bingo, fish and enjoyed listening to the Sunshine Band.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday (July 23, 2010) at the Davis-Playle-HudsonRimer Funeral Home with Reverend Glen Archer officiating. Musical selections will be "One Day At A Time" and "Amazing Grace". Burial will be in the Deep Springs Cemetery, south of Milan, MO.
Pallbearers will be Charles R. Cooper, Charles Peacock, Larry Williams, Ron Harrison, Tyson Yos and Gary Knott.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. on Friday (July 23, 2010) until the time of the service at the
