Eva Veatch
Eva Ann (Branscomb) Veatch went home to be with Jesus at 4:00 p.m. Monday August 16, 2010 in Mercy Hospital in Centerville, Iowa. She had been in failing health for a number of years.
Eva was the daughter of Charles and Marsha Branscomb, born August 5, 1964 in Unionville, MO. She grew up in Livona and attended Elementary and High School in Unionville graduating with the class of 1982. On November 7, 1985 she was united in marriage to Darryl Smith and to this union one daughter, Sauna was born. In 1994 she started attending the Kirksville Vo-Tech School of Nursing. On Oct. 1, 1995 she received her LPN degree. She worked in northeast MO until May of 2004, when failing health forced her into early retirement. On February 14, 1998, she was united in marriage to Laylon Veatch who survives.
Also surviving are her parents, Charles and Marsha Branscomb of Livonia, her daughter, Sauna Shephard and husband Fred of Livonia, one grandson, Fredrick (Hotrod) Shephard II, one sister, Tammy Merryfield and husband Roy of Grandview, MO and a number of Aunts, Cousins, and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eva and Virgil Branscomb, Daisy and Emmett Ray, and one granddaughter JoLeNe Shephard.
She was an awesome wife, daughter, Mom, and Grandma. She loved the Lord, going to church, playing the keyboard and piano and reading and playing with her grandson. She attended the Decker Chapel and Ray Rogers full gospel Churches in Kirksville where she enjoyed playing the piano.
Quote-I miss thy wife, mother, grandma, daughter, and friend. Thy image is still the deepest impression on my mind.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday (August 20, 2010) at Dooley Funeral Chapel with Pastor David Winchester of Des Moines, Iowa officiating. Music will be Pastor David Winchester playing the guitar and singing "Holy Hills". Her daughter, Sauna will be singing "Life Goes On". Sauna will also read the poem "Her Journeys Just Begun. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery north of Livonia, MO.
Pallbearers will be Fred Shephard, Roy Merryfield, John Veatch, Darryl Smith, Ron Williams, and Dick Vestal. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fredrick (Hotrod) Shepard II and Sauna Shepard.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. Thursday (August 19, 2010) in the
