Jerry Carlson, 54, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO, on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, after a battle with cancer.
Jerry Dean Carlson was born May 23, 1956, in Marshalltown, IA, the son of Curtis and Marjorie (Hall) Carlson, who preceded him in death. He grew up in the Marshalltown and Albion, IA, area. On August 30, 1979 he married Becky Cole in Marshalltown, IA and she survives at home in Unionville.
After school Jerry worked for Marshalltown Instruments and then drove a bus for the Union-Whitten BCL School for ten years. He and Becky moved to Unionville in 1996 and Jerry drove a school bus in Putnam County for three years. He went into disability in October of 2009.
Jerry liked to ride motorcycles with friends and to fish. He was a person with a reserved personality who was a real computer buff. He had a special affection for his dog, Miller.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by his son, Ryan Carlson, of Unionville, MO, a brother, Larry Baker and wife Susie of Albion, IA, and sister Bonnie Wenzel and husband Ron of Marshalltown, IA.
