Geneva L. Wyatt
Geneva Lucille Wyatt 75, of Novinger passed away Thursday, August 26, 2010, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The daughter of Fredrick Pearl and Zelma Lucille (Leonard) Drummond, Sr, Geneva was born September 17, 1934 in Queen City, MO. On September 24, 1954 in Novinger, MO she was united in marriage to William “Bill” Wyatt.
Geneva is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Wyatt; two sons, Randy Wyatt and wife, Fran of Green Castle, MO and Joe Wyatt and wife, Sheila of Bradenton, FL: one daughter, Terry Williams and husband, LeRoy of Kansas City, MO; one brother, Audrey Drummond and wife, Peggy of Greentop, MO; one sister, Adeline Quick of Rockford, IL and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Fredrick Drummond and two sisters, Mildred I. Wadell and Martha A. Ford.
Geneva was reared in Queen City, Missouri where she attend school, graduating from the Queen City High School with the Class of 1952. After her marriage she moved to Kodiak, AK as Navy wife for 4 years. Upon returning from Alaska she moved to Rockford, IL for a short period before returning to Novinger, MO. Geneva worked for the Shoe Factory for 23 years along with being a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed making quilts, going to yard sales and auctions. Geneva loved being with all of her family and friends. She enjoyed almost 56 years of marriage.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Darrel Crooks officiating. Music will be provided by Twila Jones singing “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace”, accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Nick Wyatt, Zach Wyatt, Jake Wyatt, Alex Wyatt, Brek Snyder, Tom Johnson, Floyd Ellsworth and LeRoy Williams. Honorary Pallbearer will be DaKotta Snyder.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010, at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
