Margie L. Head

Margie L. Head, 74 of LaPlata, MO and formerly of Buckeye, AZ passed away Saturday (September 11, 2010) at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
The daughter of Charles and Mary (Grubrich) Young, she was born June 26, 1936 in Kirksville, MO. She attended the Youngstown rural school. On September 21, 1954 in Peoria, IL she was united in marriage to Harvey Head. After her marriage she worked for a Drycleaners and was a seamstress.
Margie was a member of the Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Margie is survived be seven children, James & Sue Head of Kirksville, Jeri & Thomas Scriven of LaPlata, MO, Walter Head of Ft. Madison, IA, Jesse and Rosemary Head of Buckeye, AZ, Virginia & Bill Barriner of Bonne Terre, MO, Cathy & Dan Sevinson of Miller, SD, David & Sally Head of East Greenwich, RI; 25 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; one sister, Barbara McCarty of LaPlata, MO; one aunt, Matilda Grubrich of Greentop, MO and several nieces and nephews.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Harvey.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday (September 17, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Elmer McCully officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be John Barriner, Jason Barriner, Chris Head, Jesse Head, James Head, Shawn Head, Wally Head and Charlie Head. Honorary bearers will be Sam Thomas, David Cunningham, Ethan Boren and Pat Boren.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the
