Dema Aldridge

Dema Lenore Aldridge, 82 of Queen passed away Wednesday (September 15, 2010) in Northeast Regional Medical Center where she had been a patient since Saturday.
The daughter of Orval and Icie (Pyle) Bane, she was born March 24, 1928 in Gifford, MO. On August 18, 1948 at Hiawatha, KS she was united in marriage to Orval Gene Aldridge who preceded her in death on July 14, 1998. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Arthur Bane; two daughters-in-law, Grace Aldridge and Linda Aldridge.
Dema is survived by nine children, Robert Aldridge and wife Jo of Queen City, Ronnie Aldridge and wife Gloria of Greentop, Randy Aldridge of Vancouver, WA, Virginia Griswold and husband Donnie of Queen City, Paul Aldridge and wife Vicky of Louisiana, MO, Arlene Bulechek and husband Bob of Greentop, Alan Aldridge and wife Sandi of Queen City, Dale Aldridge of Unionville, MO and Carl Aldridge and wife Tina of Queen City; one brother, Wilbur Bane of Ottumwa, IA; one sister, Melba Heaton and husband Laverne of Kirksville; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Dema was raised in the Gifford area and attended the Gifford Elementary and High School, graduating with the class of 1945. She attended a year at Kirksville State Teachers College and taught at Star rural school. Following her marriage she moved to a farm east of Queen City where she resided until moving to Fjeld Arms in Kirksville where she lived until failing health forced her to become a resident of Schuyler County Nursing home.
She was a member of the Brushey Union Church east of Queen City. After moving to Kirksville she faithfully attended the Church of God Holiness.
Funeral service will be Saturday (September 18, 2010) at 2:00 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ralph Wheeler officiating. Music will be provided by Melvin Bissey singing, “How Great Thou Art” and “Sweet Bye and Bye” accompanied by Carol Starbuck, organist. Burial will be in the Coffey Cemetery northeast of Queen City.
Pallbearers will be her sons and honorary bearers will be her grandsons.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the
Dooley Funeral Home
