Aline Cruse 92, of Kirksville passed away Saturday, September 17, 2010, at the Twin Pines Adult Care Center.
The daughter of John and Nora (Johnson) Barbarick, Aline was born June 21, 1918 in Belle, MO. In February of 1949 in Paragould, Arkansas she was united in marriage to Rex Cruse who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Leo Barbarick and one sister, Ruth Wilson.
Aline is survived by two daughters, Gaynell Symons and husband Robert of Tulsa, OK and Sandy Collop and husband Fred of Kirksville; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Barnes and husband Chris of Dayton, OH, Suzanne Peters and husband Ryan of Oklahoma City, OK, Madelin and Luke Collop of Kirksville and one great-grandson, Joel Barnes.
Aline was reared in Belle, MO where she attended school. She moved to St. Louis, MO where she worked at Small Arms Ammunition Plant during World War II. After the war she was employed at the Samuel Shoe Company where she met her husband, Rex, and they married in 1949. After the death of her husband, she moved to Kirksville to be close to her daughter. Aline was a homemaker, mother and grandmother who was a wonderful cook.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Northcutt officiating. Music will be provided by Lanna Novinger singing “ Rock of Ages” and “The Lords Prayer” accompanied by Dianthe Cable, organist. Burial will be on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010, until the time of the service at the
