Lura A. Linder, 99, of rural Novinger, passed away Wednesday (October 12, 2010) at the LaPlata Nursing Home.
The daughter of Charlie and Nettie (Shoop) Schillie, born August 20, 1911, in Adair County, MO. On May 15, 1933, in Kirksville, she was married to Russell Linder, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her were her parents, brothers; Frank, Johnny, Loren, Lloyd, and Woodrow; and sisters; Edith Jones, Merle Linder, Bertha Bergles, and Blanche Schillie.
Survivors are, son; Neil Linder and wife Merlene of LaPlata, and daughters; Margie Daniels and husband Edward “Spike” of Novinger, and carol Roberts and husband Kenneth of Jacksonville; twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, eighteen great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Lura received her education in the West Elm Grove Rural School and graduated from Kirksville High School. Her entire married life was spent on the same farm, working beside her husband. She enjoyed caring for her yard and tending a garden. She was an avid St Louis Cardinal fan.
Graveside Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday (October 16, 2010) at the Salisbury Cemetery in southwest Adair County. Virgil Jones will officiate.
There will be no public visitation.
