Billie Sue Sisson, 83, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO, on Sunday, October 17, 2010. She had been a patient there for about a week.
Billie Sue was born on the family farm west of Unionville on April 3, 1927, the daughter of Ira D. and Orah E. (Scott) Stuckey who preceded her in death. She attended Unionville High School and graduated with the class of 1945.
Billie Sue attended Chillicothe Business College and, upon graduation, was employed in Kansas City, MO, for the next 24 years. She was then employed for seven years at Keystone Trailer Co. and seventeen years as an executive secretary at Kaiser Refactories.
Billie Sue was united in marriage to Wayne W. Sisson in Las Vegas, NV, on February 7, 1969 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2001. The couple moved to Unionville in 1970 and purchased the G & E Variety Store.
She was a former member and officer of the American Business Women’s Association and a member of the VFW Auxiliary 7900 in Kansas City, as well as a former member for many years of the Unionville Country Club.
Billie Sue enjoyed reading, watching all sports and remembering friend’s birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions with notes and cards. Her friendliness and sense of humor endeared her to many friends through the years.
She is survived by her second cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Billie Sue Sisson will be at Playle & Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Thursday, October 21 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Unionville Cemetery.
