Marval Mae (Simbro) Yearns 90 of Queen City, formerly of Glenwood passed away Saturday (October 23, 2010) at Schuyler County Nursing Home where she had been a resident the past five and one half years.
The daughter of Jake Lawrence and Ruth Ann (Hamilton) Simbro, she was born March 24, 1920 in Runnels, IA. She moved to Greentop in 1931 and to Glenwood in 1932. She attended the Glenwood Elementary and Glenwood High School graduating with the Class of 1940.
On June 10, 1940 in Schuyler County she was united in marriage to Lloyd Shirley Yearns who preceded her in death on September 19, 2010. Also preceding her in death were her parents, two daughters, Shirley Mae Crockett and Diana Corder, one brother, Kenneth Simbro and three sisters, Jaunita Hill and two in infancy.
Surviving are one son, Doug Yearns and wife Debbie of Anabel, MO, seven grandchildren, Stuart Crockett, Rodney Crockett, Richard Crockett, Robert Crockett, Jason Corder, Melissa Bode and Crystal Dawkins; fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; one brother, Rusty Simbro of Lancaster, MO, three sisters, Pauline Howard and husband Melvin of Annapolis, MD, Charlotte Gruwell of Eldridge, IA and Doris Knupp and husband Joe of Glen Ellyn, IL and several nieces and nephews.
Marval spent her entire married life in Schuyler County where she was a devoted housewife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Glenwood Garden Club. She attended the Mark Iowa Church of Christ and the Orleans Church of Christ of Moulton, IA.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (October 29, 2010) at the Dooley Funeral Home. Musical selections will be “How Great Thou Art”, “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Help Pour Out The Rain”. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Hill, Stuart Crockett, Rodney Crockett, Robert Crockett, Richard Crockett and Brad Hill. Honorary bearers will be Joe Knupp, Wayne Hill, Rusty Simbro, Floyd Stiles, Melvin Howard and Richard McBee.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday (October 28, 2010) at the
Dooley Funeral Home
