Bina Leone Erwin James, 86 of Brashear passed away Saturday (November 20, 2010) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
She was born May 12, 1924 in Downing, MO with her twin sister, Bula Lee Erwin, to Virgil O. and Bertha Clarkson Erwin. She attended the Hazel Green School and graduated from the Brashear High School in 1942. On November 16, 1946 in Queen City, MO she married Boyd W. James. She was a wife, mother, homemaker, farmer, and active community member. She was a member of the Sabbath Home United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and feeding people, needlework, gardening, and time with family, especially her sisters and grandchildren.
Bina is survived by her husband of 64 years, Boyd, her children, Michael James and wife Jody of Brashear and Marsha Redmon and husband Chris of Kirksville; four grandchildren, Travis James, Elizabeth Redmon Altepeter and husband Greg, Kathleen Redmon and Thomas Redmon and three great grandchildren, Caylie James, Hunter James and Dominic Altepeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Lyle Erwin and wife Helen; and five sisters, Hazel Church and husband Jerome, Helen Yantis and husband Roscoe, Annalu Ambrosia and husband Leo, Doris Anderson and husband Harold, and Bula James and husband Charles.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (November 23, 2010) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Beryl Cragg officiating. Music will be provided by Kathleen Redmon singing “The Old Rugged Cross” and “How Great Thou Art” accompanied by Dianthe Cable. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be David Erwin, Charles Ambrosia, Randy James, Kelley Church, Philip James, and Mike Allen.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
