Hans Earl Scofield, 50 of Kirksville passed away Sunday (November 28, 2010) at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
The son of Carl Leonard and Katharina Cristina (Boller) Scofield, he was born August 18, 1960 in Kirksville. He grew up in Kirksville and graduated from the Kirksville High School in 1978. He entered the U.S. Navy serving from 1979 until he was discharge in 1983. He worked for 15 years at Twin Pines Adult Care Center in dietary. He then worked for Ellen Tomich in a group home where he was working at the time of his death.
He was a member of the V.F.W. He enjoyed cooking, working on cars and gardening.
Earl is survived by his mother, Katharina of Greentop, MO; two brothers, Mike Scofield and wife Reine of Protem, MO and Jeff Scofield and friend Diane Waddill of Kirksville; two sisters, Colleen Martin and husband Jeff of Novinger and Judy Todd and husband Steve of San Bernardino, CA; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Pat and Parker Osborn.
He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (December 4, 2010) at Prough Cemetery with Virgil Jones officiating.
