John Payne
John Payne, 59, of Powersville, MO, passed away at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO, on Thursday, December 9, 2010.
John Michael Payne was born in Unionville, MO, on August 6, 1951, the son of George and Jean (Duffy) Payne. He grew up in Unionville and graduated from Unionville High School in 1969. He married Mary Ann Shuey whom he later divorced. He later married Pam Pennings and they divorced.
John worked as a truck driver with his dad, carrying grain and watermelons. He also worked at Con-Agra in Milan, Voltmaster in Corydon, IA, and worked for several years he as a lab tech with Premium Standard Farm. Poor health caused him to give up that position.
John was a man of the Lord who was very active in the Olive Tree Outreach in Pollock, MO. His other main focus in life was to provide for his two sons, Jed and T. J. He also liked to watch westerns on television.
John is survived by two sons, Jed and wife Marranda of Unionville, MO, and T. J. and wife Jill of Memphis, MO. One granddaughter also survives, Kiera Payne, Jed and Marranda’s daughter. Other survivors include John’s mother, Jean Payne, his sister, Janice Jarman, and nephew Jeremy Jarman. Special cousins who survive are Russ and Debbie Waugh.
He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, George Ann Bugh.
Services for John Payne will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at 2:00 pm with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
Memorials are suggested to the Olive Tree Outreach and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
