Alan Rowland, 58, of Worthington, Missouri, passed away Monday (June 12, 2017) at his home in Worthington, Missouri.
The son of Marvel “Trigger” and Dorothy (Gregory) Rowland he was born August 13, 1958 in Kirksville, Missouri.
Alan grew up and spent his whole life in Worthington. He attended the Schuyler County Schools. He worked as a hired farm hand and also as a woodcutter.
Alan is survived by his mother Dorothy Ruggles, two sons; Hunter Lee Rowland and Kegan Alan Rowland of the home, a brother Bill Junior “Cork” Ruggles and wife April, three sisters; Darla Lusher and husband Murl, Gayle Ann Knowles and husband J.T., and Christie Fowler and husband John. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Marvel “Trigger” Rowland on October 27, 2006, and his step father Bill Ruggles on November 18, 2003.
Alan enjoyed spending time with his sons and his dog. He enjoyed playing ball in the park and three wheeling. He was an avid hunter.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (June 17, 2017) in the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Bushnell officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Home Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Murl Lusher, John Fowler, Tyler Anderson, Mikel ”Bret” Rowland, Caleb Martin, and Kenny Branscomb. Honorary bearers will be Edward Robbins, J.T. Knowles, Steve Followwill, and Luke Ruggles.
Visitation will be Saturday (June 17, 2017) from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. in the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, Mo. 63561.
