Allen Dale Caswell

October 11, 1923 — November 3, 2017

Allen Dale Caswell, 94, passed away early Friday morning (November 3, 2017) in the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City where he had been since July of 2016.

The son of Alva and Martha (Turk) Caswell, he was born October 11, 1923 in Queen City, MO. He grew up in the Queen City area and attended the Queen City Public School. In the early 1950’s he moved to California where he worked for several years for a company that chromed tailpipe extensions. In the early 1970’s he returned to Queen City where he worked for the Schuyler County Water District for a number of years. In the early 1980’s he moved to Yakima, Washington where he worked in the apple orchards and was a night watchman for a company. In the late 1980’s he moved back to Queen City. He owned and operated pool halls in Queen City and Lancaster for several years.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Goldie Brown; two brothers, Bud Caswell and Bill Caswell; and a niece, Barbara Caswell.

Dale is survived by four nieces, Martha Ann King and husband Jerry of Yakima, WA, Joyce Begay and husband Joe of Puyallup, WA, Jeanie Riggsby and husband Lex of Arizona City, AZ, and Sherry Taylor and husband Roy of Yakima, WA; a nephew, David Brown and wife Sherry of Yakima, WA; several great nieces and nephews, as well as several special friends.

Dale was a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church.

Graveside service will be held Saturday (November 11, 2017) at 1:00 p.m. at the Tarr Cemetery with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Arrangements under the direction of the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, MO.
