Alma G. Stenger passed away peacefully on April 29, 2022 at The Pines in Kirksville, MO. Alma was born on October 27, 1925 in Nowata, OK to Thomas and Gussie (Michael) May
Alma was 96 ½ years old.
In 1968 Alma married the love of her life, Bruce Stenger. She moved to Kirksville in 1995 after living several years in Mansfield, Arkansas where she wrote a newspaper column entitled “Alma’s Attic” for the Mansfield Weekly News.
Alma is the mother of one daughter, Vicki Lloyd (Thomas) of Kirksville, and three sons Thomas Pickle (Carole) of Meridian, Idaho, Scott Pickle who preceded her in death and Chip Pickle and friend Birdie of Cleveland, Alabama, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren all who lovingly referred to Alma as “GG”.
Alma was a talented artist. She wrote several short stories chronicling her life and authored one autobiography “Tears On The Wind”. She sketched pictures of family and painted stunning portraits.
Alma loved Jesus and frequently spoke of her faith. She attended Rehoboth Baptist Church when she was able, She loved and respected Pastor Curtis Ferguson
A graveside memorial will be scheduled for a later date.
