Andrea Nicole (Rinkol) Hampton was born Dec. 3, 1977, to LeRoy and Sallie Rinkol in Columbus, Nebraska. Andrea grew up on a farm just south of Genoa, Nebraska. She was a girl on a farm, but wasn’t a farm girl; however, she did have a great appreciation for the farming lifestyle and really respected those who lived it. Andrea attended a little one room country school in rural Nance County, called Midway District 25, from kindergarten to 8th grade. She attended Junior & Senior High at Genoa Public Schools, graduating in 1996. Andrea had a very special class with some very special people that meant a lot to her. Even with all the trials and tribulations in her life she could always lean on and depend on her close group of friends. You could say a few were even closer than family.
Andrea received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice at Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri. She later attended Columbia College and obtained her master’s degree in criminal justice administration. Andrea was employed by the State of Missouri in their social services division. She worked daily helping troubled youth get reinstated back with their families and assisting parents in learning the necessary skills to be effective parents. Andrea also opened her home and was a foster parent for a short time. Andrea was also a professor at Truman State University for a time where she coached the mock trial team. It definitely was fate bringing Andrea down to Missouri because this is where she found the love of her life and soul mate, David.
On May 23, 2009, Andrea married the love of her life, David Hampton. They were married on her grandparents’ farm in rural Genoa, Nebraska. David and Andrea made their home in rural Kirksville, Missouri David, the family would like you to know that the love and care you have shown Andrea over the years means more to us than you will ever know, and she loved you dearly. Family was the most important thing to Andrea. She had an extraordinarily strong and deep love for all her grandkids, nieces, nephews. Health and physical issues were never used as an excuse to not be involved in the lives of Andrea & David’s families. Andrea will forever be deeply loved and missed.
Andrea is survived by her husband, David, and stepdaughter Ashley (Hampton) McCarty as well as her grandchildren: Cade McCarty, Reese McCarty, and Gage McCarty. Grandparents: Bennie and Verleen Rinkol, parents: LeRoy and Sallie Rinkol, and siblings: Aaron Rinkol (Heather Rinkol), Jennifer Kramer (Josh Kramer), Jessica Jilg (Darin Jilg).
