Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren Lauren (Bobby) Hance Welch, Hayden Kilburn, Alex Hance, Anne Marie Quinn, Rose Quinn, John Paul Quinn, Gianna Quinn, Robert Quinn, and great grandchildren Jack and Adelaide Welch. She was preceded in death by her mother Caroline, father Walter, brothers Walter, Quentin, Charles and Bill, sisters Birdie, Mamie, and Audrey, along with several nieces and nephews.
Born May 26, 1940, in Cove, Arkansas to Caroline Elizabeth (Cotnam) and Walter Paul Graves. As a small child, she moved with her family to California where she attended elementary school in National City. She attended Prairie Bible Institute in Alberta, Canada for two years, and completed her high school education in Browning, MO. She attended Northeast Missouri State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO where she met and married the love of her life, Jack, on July 31, 1960, in Winigan, MO.
After marrying Jack, he joined the Air Force, and they were stationed in Louisiana and Oklahoma. After his time in the Air Force, they made their home in Kirksville, MO. Bobbi worked for the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an operator. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Rider Drug and Mamselles Clothing store and later became a secretary at the Bank of Kirksville. She ended her working career as office manager for the Kirksville Livestock Market.
She enjoyed traveling, music, arts and crafts, and golfing. She was a member of the Pinch Penny Players and Traveler’s Community Theater. She was an active member of Shadow Hills Church in Las Vegas before her health began to fail. Jack and Bobbi enjoyed their life of travel and lived in the Fort Myers, FL area, Las Vegas, NV and Gilbert, AZ before returning to Missouri to spend time near their daughters and grandchildren.
Bobbi will be remembered for her ability to bring a smile and laughter to everyone she met. Their home was always open, and they welcomed many to share a meal and companionship. She never met a stranger and always had a welcoming heart.
Though our hearts are broken, we are at peace knowing she is no longer fighting this devastating disease.
