Barbara Joyce Meeker Cragg, 83 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at The Pines in Kirksville.
The daughter of Harold Leonard and Alberta Louise (Hatcher) Meeker, she was born January 4, 1937 in Moberly, Missouri. On July 5, 1958 in Oskaloosa, Iowa she was united in marriage to Beryl Dean Cragg.
Barbara is survived by her children, Cheryl Cragg of Kirksville, Michele Cragg of Kahoka, MO, Randy Cragg and wife Karen of Lee’s Summit, MO, Kevin Cragg and wife Karen of Independence, MO, and Tim Cragg of Independence, MO; four grandchildren, Kaylee Cypret and husband Tyler, Josh Cragg, Zechariah Cragg and Zander Cragg; one sister, Judy Piatt and husband Terry of Centerville, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Beverly Meeker of Ottumwa, Iowa, Linda Chance of Virginia Beach, VA, and Judy Wellman of Quincy, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Nita Cragg of Gallatin, MO; sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Ron Bean of Lake in the Hills, IL and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Reverend Beryl Dean Cragg; one brother, Ivan Meeker and brothers-in-law, Richard Wellman and Charles Chance.
Barbara grew up in Oskaloosa, Iowa and graduated from the Oskaloosa High School in 1955. She worked in a clothing store and was a secretary for an insurance agency until her marriage. After her marriage she was a homemaker and raised her family.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sudoku and was an Iowa girls Basketball fan.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 2020 with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fort Madison Cemetery, near Greentop, MO.
Pallbearers will be Roy Love, Jay Cragg, Brian Robison, Dick Wellman, Andrew Cochenour, and Steven Bennett.
Memorials are suggested to the Fort Madison Cemetery.
