Barbara Jane Lubbering

October 8, 1934 — September 23, 2023

Barbara Jane Lubbering, 88, of Kirksville passed away Saturday, September 23 at The Pines nursing home.

The daughter of Harold Weldon and Eva Lee Walker, she was born October 8, 1934 in Hannibal, Missouri. On August 17, 1957 she was united in marriage to Ernest Lynn Lubbering, also from Hannibal.

Jane is survived by her two sons, Michael Walker Lubbering (age 65) of Kirksville, MO and Tracy Lynn Lubbering (age 62) (spouse Jeanne) of Edgewood, NM; her sister, Marilyn Sue Hull, several nieces, a nephew, and several grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Lynn.

Jane grew up and attended school in Hannibal, MO. She worked for many years in secretarial positions and later as a teacher’s aide in the Kirksville R-3 School District. She was a parishioner at Mary Immaculate Catholic Parish in Kirksville. She worked very hard and, in her retirement, enjoyed reading and feeding the squirrels and birds. Hopefully, with her passing we will not see a decline in either population. It was fun to make Jane laugh as she had a wonderful sense of humor. She was kind to everyone she encountered daily; she will be missed.
