Barbara Ann Pinkerton, born on November 17, 1948, in Kirksville, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on February 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. A devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt, Barbara's life was a testament to the beauty of family bonds and the joy of shared experiences.
Barbara enjoyed a lifelong career at Hollister, a significant chapter of her life where she dedicated her talents and energy. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her passion for travel, which allowed her to explore the world and create cherished memories with her family. Her enthusiasm for life extended to joyful adventures in gambling, a past time she relished wholeheartedly. An animal lover at heart, she had an innate ability to connect with all creatures.
She attended schools in Kirksville, Missouri, where her roots began and nurtured her throughout her life. Barbara's love for her family knew no bounds. She was married to Raymond Pinkerton for 56 beautiful years, celebrating their union on June 29, 1968. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memorable moments.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Raymond, and their beloved daughter, Tina Hines of Brashear, MO. She also leaves behind her cherished brother, Mike (Debbie) Clay of Spring Hill, FL, and her dear sister, Rosalee (Gale) Rusk of Brashear, MO. Her legacy continues through her nieces and nephews, including Matthew Clay, Alex Clay, Aaron Clay, Rashanea and Ryan Rusk, Joanna (Lloyd) Martin, and Linsey and Chuck Zuccarini, Amanda (Andy) Anders and Trevor and Megan Mills; and her great-nephews and great-nieces, Jayden Kugler, Daytona Rusk, Noah Mills, Declan Mills, Gunner Mills, Billy Daniels, Clark Daniels, Callie Anders, Shevelle Rusk, John Curry, Chris Curry, Ronnie (Vicky) Daniels, and Eliza Mills. Barbara was a beloved grandmother to Cieria (Dusty) Kelly and a proud great-grandmother to Paisley, Hulon, Waylon, Grayson, and Stetson Kelly. Also survived is son-in-law Mike Hines, and sister-in-law Elizabeth (Robert) Mills of Brashear, Mo.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Anna (Potter) Clay, who instilled in her the values of love and devotion that she passed on to her family.
Her absence will be deeply felt, but Barbara's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her. She taught us the importance of family, the joy found in life's little moments, and the warmth of a kind word or gesture. As we remember Barbara, we hold fast to the memories of her laughter, her love, and the light she brought into our lives.
A celebratioin of life service will he held on May 25, 2025, at The Keller Building in Brashear, at 1:00PM.
In honor of Barbara's memory, memorials may be left to Hospice Compassus, The Adair County Animal Shelter, or St. Judes children's hospital.
