Barry V. Cundiff passed away April 1, 2023. He was born in Kirksville, Missouri on June 18, 1961, the son of William Vincil Cundiff and Doris Nola Gardner Cundiff, in Kirksville, Missouri.
Barry married his wife Audrey in Jefferson City in 1992. They have one son, Brody, who was born in 2008. Also surviving are brother, Kirby R. Cundiff and sister-in-law Katlin Cundiff, as well as niece Jasmine.
Barry was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended Truman State University graduating in 1983 with degrees in history and economics. He subsequently attended law school at the University of Missouri in Columbia graduating in 1986. He was engaged in the practice of law since his graduation and in Kirksville since 1993.
Barry was a member of Adair Lodge #366 AF&AM and served as Worshipful Master in 1998 and again in 2001. MWB Cundiff was a member of the Kirksville York Right bodies and has served as High Priest of Caldwell Chapter #53, Royal Arch Masons; Illustrious Master of Kirksville Council #42, Cryptic Masons; and Eminent Commander of Ely Commandery of Knights Templar #22. He was also a member of Heart of Missouri #188, York Rite Sovereign College; Tipperary Council #62, Knight Masons; Lafayette Council Allied Masonic Degrees; and St. Chrysostom Conclave, Red Cross of Constantine. He was a 33 degree, KCCH, member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Columbia. MWB Cundiff served as the Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Missouri AF&AM 2020-2021.
MWB Cundiff’s father William and paternal grandfather O. Vincil (Jack) were both Masters of Adair Lodge 366. His maternal grandfather Ray P. Gardner was also a member of the lodge.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 2023 family will greet friends at that time. Masonic service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday followed by a memorial service at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Humane Society or Kirksville Masonic Temple.
