Beverly Hurley, 89, formerly of Livonia, Missouri, passed away at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital in Unionville, Missouri, on Monday, January 9, 2023.
Beverly Mae (Blackburn) Hurley was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, on December 31, 1933, the daughter of Gardner and Alta Jane (Stigel) Blackburn. She married Bobbie Hurley in the state of Washington on June 23, 1957. Beverly and Bobbie moved to Livonia, Missouri, after Bobbie was discharged from the Army in 1957 and they lived there for a time before moving to Waterloo, Iowa. They then moved back to Washington where Bobbie worked and Beverly was a homemaker. The family moved back to Livonia in 1969 and made their home there until Bobbie passed away. Beverly eventually moved to Glenwood, Missouri, before recently moving to the Putnam County Care Center when she broke an ankle.
Beverly worked at the Shoe factory in Kirksville for about ten years after the children were grown. She was a godly woman and was always active in her church. She attended the Livonia Trintiy Full Gospel Church until it closed. Beverly was a mighty prayer warrior for her church, family, and community. She loved to read the Bible and teach children in her younger years. She attended the Glenwood Assembly of God Church in recent years. Beverly and Bobbie liked to travel and camp in the mountains. She liked to walk in the woods and loved her family.
Beverly is survived by three sons: Bobby (Beth) Hurley of Evansdale, Iowa; Harvey (Alberta) Quintana of Livonia, Missouri; and Robert (Shelia) Hurley of Danu, Minnesota; and a daughter, Joann Torrez of Pueblo, Colorado. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as three brothers and one sister.
Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bobbie, who died February 22, 2013; a son, James Hurley, and a daughter, Janie Smith. She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeromy Hurley and Benjamin Quintana, two sisters, and one brother.
