Carleena Brown 54, of Kirksville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday evening (July 10, 2024) at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. The daughter of Carl Lee and Saundra (Robinson) Davis she was born April 8, 1970 in Kirksville. She grew up and attended school in Putnam County, graduating from Unionville High School with the class of 1988.
She attended Indian Hills Community College where she received her LPN in 1991 and her RN degree in 2011. She worked as an LPN at Academic Medicine and Northeast Regional Hospital while getting her RN. On weekends she also worked for Hospice.
Carleena was united in marriage to Robert Brown July 4, 1990, and they lived in rural Putnam County until August 2023 when they moved to Kirksville, Missouri.
At the time of her death, she was Clinical Director at Davis County Hospital and Clinic, in Bloomfield, Iowa.
Carleena is survived by her husband Robert, sons Carl Davis and Colt Brown and wife Summer, sister Theresa Branscom and husband Kenny, two half sisters Leaann Blankenship and Lisa Van Velzer, Nieces Traci Branscom, and Cassie Bowen and husband Ben and their children Carlee and Bentlee, and one nephew Chris Brown and wife Mandi and their family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a half brother Joe Cullum.
Carleena was a member of the Omaha Baptist Church from an early age.
She was always involved in helping others. Always ready to be a Mom to anyone who needed extra support. She loved to hunt, fish, hunt for mushrooms, and really enjoyed camping.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 3:00 pm with Pastor Roger Moore officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Dooley Funeral Home in Queen City, Missouri.
In lieu of flowers, donations sent to Dooley Funeral Home or collected at the time of the funeral will be forwarded to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in remembrance of Carleena’s fight with the disease. Please feel free to donate directly to the MDA on Carleena’s behalf.
