Carol Elaine Yantis

Carol Elaine (Miller) Yantis, age 88, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully at Villa Saint Francis Nursing Home on Thursday, May 30, 2024.

Carol was born on July 20, 1935 to Ernest and Leta Miller in Brashear, Missouri. Carol graduated from Brashear High School and spent much of her adult life in the Brashear area. She relocated to Olathe, Kansas, in 2010 to be closer to her adult children.

Carol married Eldon Yantis in 1957. Eldon and Carol had four children: Marilyn Hockett, Lori Zaroban, Stephen Yantis, and David Yantis. Together they had eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents (Ernest and Leta Miller), brother (Jerry Miller), husband (Eldon Yantis), infant daughter (Linda Yantis) and son (David Yantis).

Carol was an active member of the Kirksville (MO) Church of the Nazarene for many years. Her walk with Christ and devotion to her family were evident to all who knew her.  Carol was also a great prayer warrior. She loved butterflies, birds, time spent on her family farm, and homemade ice cream.

She is survived by daughters Marilyn Hockett and Lori Zaroban, and son Stephen (LeAnn) Yantis, and grandchildren Tracy (Brian) Fischer, Bob (Angi) Hockett, Wendy (Rob) Gales, Daniel Hockett, Kelly Brown, Joni (Mike) Archer, Matthew (Megan) Yantis and Nathan Yantis, and sister Marilyn Shahan.

A Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 27th, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Playle-Rimer-Millard Funeral Chapel in Kirksville, MO. Burial will follow at Sabbath Home Cemetery east of Kirksville.
