Charles Donald Burks Sr

Charles Donald Burks (Donnie) passed away on November 21st, 2024 peacefully at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

Donnie was born July 3rd, 1947 to Easter Ruth Burks and George Bennett. Donnie was raised in Kansas City, Missouri by Ruth Burks and Jessie Welch (Step-Dad). Donnie married Victoria Marie Young on November 5th, 1966. They had 4 children, Mary Verlene Paul of LaBelle, MO, Emanuel Lee Burks- Juanita Burks of Columbia, MO, Donnie- Tracy Burks of Keokuk, IA, and Curtis Alan Burks of Moberly, MO.

Donnie was preceded in death by Victoria Burks, his mother Easter Burks, his father George Bennet, his step-father Jessie Fitzwater, and his one and only sibling Ruthie Fitzwater.

Donnie worked for Shannon and Perry Sawmill, a majority of his life. 

Donnie has 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandkids, that he loved each and everyone of.

Donnie loved sitting outside, playing music, collecting lighters and knives, watching 48 hour sci fi and history movies. He loved working on lawn mowers, tearing them apart and putting them back together. He also loved going on car rides. 

Donnie and Vickie Burks had one grandchild they took in and raised as their own, Michelle Marie Coop of Kirksville, MO. 

Donnie is to be cremated and no services to be held.
