Clifford Snider

July 9, 1928 — May 7, 2020

Clifford Snider, 91 of Queen City passed away Thursday (May 7. 2020) in the Schuyler County Nursing Home.

The son of Cecil and Emma (Armstrong) Snider, he was born July 9, 1928, in Palisade, Nebraska. In 1944 he moved with his family to a farm west of Queen City where he grew up.

Cliff was inducted into the United States Army November 10, 1950, and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a combat veteran and received the Korean service medal with four Bronze service stars and UN Service Medal Distinguished Unit Citation. Clifford was honorably discharged November 10, 1952,

On November 22, 1952, he was united in marriage to Lola Mae Wheeler who preceded him in death on April 13, 2017. He was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Joe and Doug, his parents and two brothers Ivan and Ronnie.

Cliff is survived by three sons; Curtis Snider and wife Leonetta , of Queen City, MO, Clay Snider and wife Cindy, of Greentop, MO and Carl Snider and wife Tish, of Queen City, MO, nine grandchildren; Cody Murphy and wife Jenny, Jimmy Murphy, Shelby Murphy, Craig Snider, Collin Snider, Colby Snider, Cody Snider and wife Holly of Queen City, Jake Snider and wife Chelsie of Lancaster, and Kimberly Snider of Queen City. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; Alexis Beeler, Levi Murphy, Peyton Murphy, Elliot Murphy, Taylor Bass, Joslynn Mae Snider, Nora Jene Snider, and Kolson James Snider, one sister Florence Borger of Helena Montana, and several nieces and nephews.

He farmed which he really enjoyed and also worked for Standard Oil Co. for several years.

Cliff was a sixty year 32nd degree Mason and was a member of Queen City Lodge #380 A.F. & A.M. and a forty five year Shriner.

Cliff loved his grandchildren and also really enjoyed mowing.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (May 16, 2020) in the Queen City Cemetery with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating.

Memorials are suggested to the Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund.
