Connie Marie Kinne

Connie Marie Kinne, 70, of Unionville, MO, passed away at her home on December 10, 2019, after a lengthy struggle with poor health.

Connie Kinne was born in Des Moines, IA, on October 30, 1949, the daughter of Max and Bette (Benoit) Van Rees. In 1982, Connie married Harold Kinne in Urbandale, IA. In 2004, they moved to Lake Thunderhead and fell in love with lake living. Throughout Connie’s lifetime she served in various administrative positions. She was very meticulous when it came to bookwork and even owned and operated a Dairy Queen franchise with her husband for many years. Connie was known as “the kindest and sweetest of all the sisters.” She earned this title for making her family laugh and feel special, even sitting for hours designing special cards for all with the latest card-making contraptions. Connie was very involved with her sewing group and Bridge club. Most of all, she cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren..

Connie is survived by four children, Scot Kinne and wife, Wendy, of Boone, IA; Kris Petersen and wife, Tina, of Blue Springs, MO; Kelli Knox of Des Moines, IA; and Katie Knox of West Salem, WI. Connie’s grandchildren are Cierra, Bret, Erika, Erin, Kevin, Robbie, and Nolan and her great-grandchildren are Micah, Aiyana, and Grayson. Connie’s surviving brothers are Mike and wife, Christin; and Chris and wife, Kim. Surviving sisters are Sharon; Patti and husband, Bob; Katy and husband, Bruce; and Cindy and husband, Don.

In addition to her parents, Connie was preceded in death by a sister, Korky.

A memorial service for Connie will be held at the Unionville United Methodist Church in Unionville, MO, at 1:00 pm, Monday, December 16. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorials for Connie are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Unionville United Methodist Church and may be entrusted to the Playle & Collins Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27 ^th St., Unionville, MO, 63565.
