Daniel A. Kelly

Daniel A. Kelly, 51 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri surrounded by his family.

The son of John E. and Lora Anne (Summers) Kelly, he was born January 3, 1972 in Kirksville, Missouri. He grew up in Kirksville, attended Kirksville Schools and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1990. He graduated from Indian Hills Community College with a degree in computer science. He worked for Wal-Mart, Staples, Super 8 Motel and was currently working for Four Horizon’s Reality.

Daniel is survived by his parents, John and Anne Kelly of Kirksville; two brothers, Jack (Ginger) Kelly of Columbia, MO and Todd Kelly of Kirksville; one sister, Jennifer (Brett) Moore of Columbia, MO; nieces and nephews, Lauren & Jess Kelly of Orlando, FL, Brandon & Whitney Kelly and their children, Jaxon, Averey & Addison of Kirksville, Andrew & Maureen Kelly and their children, Gwen & Eden of Columbia, MO, Jacob, Matthew & Noah Moore of Columbia, MO; two uncles, Bob Kelly & Ted Dresie of High Point, NC and Phil & Karen Summers of Mt Carmel, IL.

Dan was a very loving and sweet little boy who grew into a very caring man with a big heart.  He enjoyed games of all kinds whether board games, video or online.  He loved spending time with his friends and family and buying gifts for everyone.  He never forgot a birthday and always had presents bought months ahead of time waiting to give.  He was a loving uncle and the best baby brother anyone could have asked for.

He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, grandparents, two aunts, Nancy Kelly Bannister and Patricia Summers and one great aunt.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 10th, 2023 with funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Christian Church or charity of the donor’s choice.
