Donald Wood

Donald Eugene Wood, 71 of Kirksville, MO passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 24, 2018.

The son of Donald and Dorothy (Barg) Wood, Donald was born July 11, 1946 in Spring Hill, IA. On October 24, 1981 in Colorado Springs, CO he was united in marriage to Cathy Shorten, who survives.

Donald is also survived one son, Christopher Donald Wood of Des Moines, IA; one daughter, Rosalind Wood and significant other Gary Garner of Kirksville, MO; two sisters, Elaine Ansley and husband, Ron of Indianola, IA and Rosalind Wood and significant other Peter Levi of Minneapolis, MN and three grandchildren, Renee Wood, Chole Wood and Levi Wood.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Donald grew up and attended school Indianola, IA. He enlisted in United States Marine Corps serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Donald was a member of the Local #669, Sprinkler Fitter Union, which he retired in 2008. After his retirement Donald and Cathy moved to Kirksville, MO.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Dukum Inn on Saturday (April 7, 2018) from 3 to 6 P.M. Memorial Service with Military rites and burial will be at later date at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, Iowa.
